What exactly is a silver bracelet made of?

What is the difference between 925 silver and pure silver?
925 silver means the bracelet contains 92.5% pure silver. This is the standard quality for jewellery. Pure silver (999) is too soft for everyday wear.
What is rhodium plating?
Rhodium plating is a thin layer of rhodium, a precious metal from the platinum group, applied to silver, white gold or other metals. It provides a bright, white shine and extra protection against scratches and tarnish. Rhodium itself does not oxidise
How long does rhodium plating last?
This depends on wear and skin chemistry. With normal use, the layer can last from several months to years. Heavy wear or friction can cause the finish to wear down more quickly. A very acidic or very alkaline skin can cause the rhodium layer to wear
Can rhodium plating be reapplied?
Yes, a jeweller can re-rhodium plate jewellery to restore its shine. Pig & Hen does not offer this service, but customers can request it at a local jeweller.
Can I shower or swim with a rhodium plated bracelet?
It is not recommended. Water, especially chlorine or salt water, can wear down the plating more quickly.
Is rhodium more valuable than silver?
Yes, rhodium is rarer and more expensive than silver. The plating is only a thin layer, but it enhances the bracelet’s appearance and durability.
How do I know if a bracelet is real silver?
Real silver jewellery typically carries a 925 stamp. You will often find multiple stamps: a 925 hallmark, a brand stamp and an official assay office mark. Some pieces have two 925 marks, one for Dutch regulations and one for other EU countries.
Do I receive a certificate with my silver bracelet?
In the Netherlands, the only legally valid proof that a piece is real silver is the hallmark stamped into the jewellery. Certificates are not common and offer no guarantee of authenticity.
What is recycled silver?

Does recycled silver look different from new silver?

What is the difference between recycled silver and fairtrade silver?

Can you wear a magnetic clasp if you have a pacemaker?
